攻殻機動隊の初期の作品であるアニメ映画「GHOST IN THE SHELL 攻殻機動隊」（押井守監督）の映像と音声を作り直したフルリニューアル版「GHOST IN THE SHELL 攻殻機動隊 2.0」が、7月12日から全国5都市の劇場で限定公開されるそうです。
「GHOST IN THE SHELL」と言えば、私のイメージですが、公開当時日本での評価はそれほど高くなかったような気がします。でも、海外での評価は高くあの「タイタニック」で有名なジェームズキャメロン監督も評価をしています。そして、マトリックスの元ネタとも言われていますね。
3DCGやデジタルエフェクトを取り入れて全カットリニューアルし、アフレコも全編新規に行った。声優の榊原良子さんが新たに参加し、攻殻機動隊隊長・草薙素子が追跡する犯罪者（通称：人形使い）役を演じるそうです。
音楽は6.1chサウンドでリミックス。音響製作には、オリジナル版も担当している川井憲次さんのほか、「Mr.インクレディブル」のランディ・トムさんが参加。
