カジュアル系FPS「ペーパーマン」のプレオープンβテストをが開始されたそうです。
さて、このペーパーマンは、元はサイカンゲームズが開発・運営していたタイトルで、 一度はオープンβテストまでこぎつけたが、2008年3月に同社はゲーム事業からの撤退を発表されたという経緯をもつ。 その後、ゲームポットが韓国以外でのペーパーマンの開発・運営権を獲得し、ようやくサービス開始に向けて動き出した。
中身は既存のFPSとほぼ同じシステムだが、ぺらぺらの紙でできているキャラクターや、リアリティを追求しがちなFPSというジャンルには珍しいかわいいアバター、 ボイスなどを取り入れた本タイトルはライトゲーマーからの注目度も高く、βテスト参加者からは復活を望む声も強かっただけに、 今回の発表はファンにとっては待ち遠しかった情報かもしれない。
同社のマーケティンググループ朝倉脩登氏によれば、「殺伐とした空気を感じさせない」といった基本コンセプトやシステムを始め、 バックストーリーやキャラクターなどもサイカンゲームズ運営時と変わらず、ゲームモードも「チームサバイバル」「爆破モード」「個人戦」などの5種類が、 そのまま引き継がれる。
むしろ、特に人気の高かったネコ耳娘の「ミリィ」や、ペーパーマンを考え出したパピルス王国のお姫様「スルル」の登場が明らかにされ、 ペーパーマンらしさには磨きがかかりそうだ。
さらに各キャラクターのボイスを新たに担当する豪華声優陣として、
「ガンダムSEEDシリーズ」のキラ・ヤマト役、「ハヤテのごとく」のハヤテ役の保志 総一朗氏、
「THE IDOL M@ster」の天海春香役の中村繪里子氏、
同じく「THE IDOL M@ster」の星井美希役の長谷川 明子氏、
「VOCALOID２」の初音ミク役の藤田 咲氏、
「機動戦士ガンダム第08MS小隊」シロー・アマダ役、「幽遊白書」の飛影役の檜山 修之氏
といった名前が本発表会で公開された。
なんとも総勢たるメンツ。
