「日本のメディア芸術100選」にも選ばれた大人気タイトル『あずまんが大王』。
2002年にTVアニメ化され、当時リリースされたDVDシリーズも各巻 4万本以上の大ヒットを記録した作品が、廉価版DVD-BOXとなって登場する。
発売は2009年6月24日で、価格は24,990円となる。
あずまきよひこのゲッサン参戦、まさかの「あずまんが大王」復活と、公式発表のたびに話題を集めていた「あずまんが大王」の新装版、「あずまんが大王 1年生」が6月11日に発売となる。
月刊コミック電撃大王（アスキー・メディアワークス）での連載開始から、10周年を迎えた記念に刊行される新装版。
「あずまんが大王 1年生」のタイトル通り、既刊コミックス全4巻に収録された内容を、1年生、2年生、3年生、と学年別に再構成し、さらに現在月刊少年サンデー（小学館）にて連載されている描き下ろし新作「あずまんが大王 補習編」が、各巻に16ページずつ加えられる。
なお2年生は7月、3年生は8月に刊行される予定。
